Ob-Oy

Foreword

The eulogy complete, the coffin was lowered into the floor. The handful that watched from the vault’s edge wondered if they too would one day be similarly entombed. Such a burial was an honor reserved for those who had done great service to the library. Patrons, priests, and scribes lay littered beneath brass and marble plaques scattered throughout the complex. Many of their names were worn unreadable by centuries of feet and carts. Was it possible that each plaque represented a person of importance? Were there ever a number of people in all of Oð to match the plaques inset within the library floor? With this latest plaque lowered into place the small crowd dispersed, returning to their toils. For one person however, their toil was finally over with the completion of a volume that included all entries from Ob through Oy.
