The Punisher, The Executioner
Merdred is the divine Dekàli aspect of punishment and correction. He appears as an older retainer in somber clothes holding a disproportionately large ax. It is Merdred that punishes those that cross the Laws of Irāyn. Merdred also guides the hands of those that enforce the laws of the Empire, e.g., constables, executioners. Their hearts are guided by Vōdtin. In some stories, Merdred escorts the souls of the condemned to Drāūn‘s River of the Dead; where he alerts the the dread Fisher of Souls of special cases, condemning them to the purgatorial River Isles.
