Run Sùlūð

The Dreaming River

Cities, Towns, and Villages

Landmarks

  • The Covered Road. East of Jædð the Run Sùlūð cuts gradually down through the Dreamlands bedrock, before levelling out in the delta of Jarjat. Along the south shore of the river here a road has been carved from the regolith, beginning a few miles upriver of the great bridge that is being constructed. Most of the road is covered with the cascading roots from the giant trees that line the Run Sùlūð shores. The roots provide some shelter from the rain, but also harbor hundreds of vermin and jungle creatures bold enough to prey on caravans moving between Jædð and Zembra.

People

Fisherman along the Run Sùlūð use much different tackle than found in other parts of Teréth End. One of the most common tackles are the garoma, which are iron traps that consist of two hemispherical shells, one inside the other. The garoma are regularly lowered into the water in a 3/4 position (meaning 3/4 closed) with bait bound to a central axle. When the bait is tugged, a spring is activated causing the hemispheres to snap shut into a complete sphere. The traps are particularly useful in capturing the more aggressive underwater denizens of the Dreamlands basin.
