Council of Lanàdus

The highest level congregation of Old Empire priests. The Council was first assembled in 111 AR as a collection of scholars, magicians, and priests who were tasked with giving direction to the fledgling Dekàli Empire with a plan called the “Grand Design”. The name “Council of Lanàdus” would not be used for another century. According to legend, the first act of the Council was completing the Pact of the Dragul which once read, drained the life and soul from the First King.

Organization

At the beginning of each Council, the conclave would elect a head priest to lead the proceedings and cast tie-breaking votes if necessary. For the duration, the leader’s vote was worth one-and-a-half compared to all other members of the Council. On a number of historical occasions, particularly when contentious issues were being debated, Council leaders have died mysteriously in the midst their tenure. In those cases, the Council requested a substitute priest from the dead leader’s Temple and a new vote was held for Council leader.
