Middle Kingdoms, Lorr, ca. 653 DR

Lorr is a mountainous kingdom that sits on the eastern shore of the Bloodling Bay. The kingdom is known throughout the region for its extensive precious metal mines, the output of which can be found in metalsmith shops throughout the continent. Lorri Gold in particular is esteemed for its radiant rose luster. Curiosity seekers also recognize Lorr as home to one of the strangest landmarks in the Middle Kingdoms, the Giant of Lorr.

Landmarks

  • Giant of Lorr. In southern Lorr, along the coast of the Bloodling Bay, lies an enormous hominid figure that locals believe is the corpse of a fallen Jōtun. The giant measures eighty yards from “head” to “feet” but has sunken substantially over the centuries, lying as it does on a coastal plain that floods annually. The most prominent feature of the figure is its arms which are crossed over its “face” as if to shield it from the sun or some other force. The elemental nature of Jōtun make it impossible to tell whether the Lorri Giant once walked this land, or it was constructed by locals to attract tourists. Records of the Giant of Lorr are centuries old, so if the oddity is in fact a hoax, it is a very old and successful one.
