War

“Korçok looked up from the fire, continuing to run the worn whetstone along the keen edge of his Çagkra. The messengers dropped quickly to their knees and gripped the dirt with their hands. Korçok bid them speak and they explained that the Yrūn horses had entered the valley and set fire to the tents. Returning to his sharpening he told them to wait. When the enemy was closer and their flanks were exposed along the valley’s length, the Ortor would fall upon them with great speed and strength. Acting too soon would lose the day, too late and they would be overrun. Korçok smiled to himself. He had faced this Ðard [Captain] in Kændal before, but this time, he was ready.”

Age of Twilight

The longest and most widespread conflict to cross the face of Teréth End, is the Twilight War. The beginnings of this conflict are unknown to Mortal historians, as they began in the ages before men tracked the heavens. The events of this war are unseen by most, though its effects often send ripples through the very fabric of Terlònoç End. Itemized here are those events of the Twilight War that have come to the attention of students of Inkàðura. The events presented are not comprehensive, but meant to give insight into the machinations of the Unworldly War.

Age of Crystal

Yrūn of southern Lyrast employed Da Çar crystal in the manufacture of their weapons. The crystal was stronger than other stones, and could be knapped to a cutting edge. The use of crystal weapons were crucial to Yrūn successes against the hard-shelled Ikítikírittìk. The use of crystal in southern Lyrast replaced the need for bronze weapons.

Age of Bronze

Yrūn bronze weapons began to appear circa 2/2303 ER. Many scholars have speculated that the “development” of bronze was an effort by the Dwürden to gain Yrūn favor against the Eylfāe. The Mortal race had displayed its strength and resourcefulness against the Ikítikírittìk in southeastern Lyrast, but the mining and manufacture of crystal weapons could not scale to support Yrūn outside the Burning Crescent.

Yrūni steel weapons began to appear circa 4/1393 ER. The appearance of steel among the Yrūn was made by Pryr Roð, who presented the metal to the Dragul Throne in Lanàdus. The subsequent development of steel weapons spurred the Empire’s campaigns into the Land of Tassèrus.
