A’álash

The Eastern Capital

At first glance, the City of A’álash is like any other teeming port city found throughout the civilized world. Thousands of buildings crowd the edges of hundreds of streets and alleys. The skyline is interrupted by the occasional minaret, cistern, and an intricate web of stone aqueducts that carry the city’s water atop graceful arches. Closer examination of the city reveals other, more peculiar differences, e.g., uniformly wide doorways, cobbled streets of iridescent stone, and roofless buildings that welcome both the burning sun and pouring rain. The inhabitants of this sprawling city seem unconcerned with the sub-tropical Scaled Lands weather, inviting the heat and humidity into their homes and businesses.

A resplendent dome rises from the city’s center, it’s surface covered in slabs of colored glass which radiate with hundreds of colors under the Tassèri sun. The Shining Dome is one of the oldest buildings in the world, one of the few structures to have survived since the Second Age. It was built during Takálabhrū Empire, some 6,000 years before Anðùs Nor first turned his eyes toward Anū Gyð.
