Ice Giants

Passing close to an island of ice, the wide black stain revealed itself to be a teeming herd of seals. As the ship neared and the men readied their clubs and baskets, the ice shrieked and parted like an opening maw, swallowing dozens of the barking beasts into its blood red gullet. When the thousand icy shard-like teeth clapped shut again, the herd was halved, disoriented, and leaping terrifyingly into the dark waters.

The slumberous Jōtun Jar may be the most numerous of the Jōtunyr. A large percentage of icebergs are believed to be sleeping Jōtun, floating aimless among the arctic waters.

With their pitons set in the icy wall, their ropes taut, and hundreds of feet between themselves and the rocky chasms below, the mountainside began to move.
