Bærídor, 26 Lanal 652

The smiling man came to look over the awakened group and addressed Kaithah about their terms of service. After sending the sprite away to retrieve a pitcher of water (ice) and attempting to explain that the simple deed was service enough, she asked that the Feyri hunt and destroy the black winged creatures that were hunting Mishara. The sprite stopped the festivities and assembled his winged and spear-wielding troops. He explained the task and the room cleared in a flurry of wings and small footsteps. Over the next few hours the Feyri reported back to the chamber with stolen goods, a crow, a black cat with wings sewn to its back, and one of their own kind painted black. Despite Kaithah’s attempts to forfeit the service, the sprite insisted that “his men were on the job” and insisted that they would complete the service they were summoned to do. Finally, reports returned from the Feyri soldiers that people in the town were armed with “Feyri-smashers” (i.e., brooms) and began hauling back people to the keep that the Feyri had killed in retaliation. Kaithah insisted that this wasn’t part of the intended service, but the sprite explained that it was an unforeseen obstacle that would have to be remedied before the hunt for the winged things could continue.

Meanwhile, Foulstern arrived in the Hall and observed the events as they unfolded. Once the townspeople began appearing, filled with Feyri spear wounds, he left. Alcèrra stopped him in the hallway, gave him the parchments containing Ōbèryl’s music, and decided on a bloody plan to rid Kryr Shùrulm, and the City, of the Feyri creatures. Alcèrra returned to the dining area and led her friends to a side chamber explaining her plan. Within minutes the footsteps of soldiery could be heard coming up the stairway and marching through the ruined Hall. Their Feyri leader screamed something before the multiple snaps of heavy crossbows stifled his surprise. Two dozen heavy crossbowmen planted themselves in the Dining Hall and waited for the Feyri sorties to return. As they did, crossbow bolts welcomed the winged creatures. Hours passed, until no more Feyri appeared in the open windows. Gathering their things as they exited, the group picked their way through the hall and corridors, riddled with the broken and pin-cushioned bodies of the strange little people.
