Metamorphic Way of Healing
Halra is a Way that many associate with Spirit magic. While it is true that most healing magics are practiced by Channelers, the art of Halra is not limited to healing of the body (i.e., halra Vīsìktrū). Healing of other forms is usually termed “mending”.
At first glance, the Way of Halra seems to overlap with Mūátra, the ability to change something from one state to another (in this case, from broken to fixed). Halra has two properties that make it different from Mūátra. Firstly, changes made by Halra are permanent, unless acted upon by an opposing external force (i.e. further injury). Secondly, even the most basic Channeling can mend, repair, or heal very sensitive and complex systems. This point suggests that Halra magics are guided by the intervention of external influences (e.g., touched, aspects, deities). Furthermore, the implications of Arcane destruction (rf. Skarádra) and Spirit mending (Halra) have not been lost on scholars.
Perhaps most confusing is the relationship between Halra and Voradrū, where the latter concerns health. When attempting to differentiate between the two, it helps to remember that Halra is a Way, not a form. If a Channeler wished to cast a spell to relieve sickness, they might cast halra Voradrū (mend health). If the Channeler wished to mend a broken bone, they might cast halra Vīsìktrū (mend body).
Sympathetic healing is usually Arcane in nature.
