Avàhrlyn

Town of Meeting

“The Eylfāe, they won’t cheat you badly, but be careful and don’t start trouble in Avàhrlyn. The town is patrolled by the Nehkrul, and Yrūn lives aren’t worth as much as you might think. Stay between the inns and the wharf. Don’t draw attention to yourself and whatever you do, don’t challenge them. They live for that and they’ve been waiting to kill you since before your parents were born.” – Boryd

Even enemies find reason to trade. North of the Yrūni lands of Oð and south of the Nehkrul lands of Arynzàlvya, lies the bustling town of Avàhrlyn. The town lies on the southern edge of the Grim Drūden and northern shore of the Nyr Dùrjin. The town name is Tirengôl for “Town of Meeting”, a meaning that lends itself to more simple times (if they ever existed). Today the river port is a hub for rogue traders, mercenaries, and pirates wishing to buy and sell exotic and illicit goods.

The town provides opportunities for many strange meetings. In Avàhrlyn, not only can Oðyr lay their eyes upon the shadowy villains of their own muddled history, but they can also meet and talk with the descendants of those Yrūn who allied with the Eylfāe, and brought down the Old Empire so many centuries ago. Though the most common residents and visitors to the town are either Eylfāe or Yrūn, those are not the only people to converge upon this place at the mouth of the Run Telabra. It is not unheard of to find Gnor merchants, Urdàri peddlers, and even the elusive Grūmun walking the streets of town.
