Nardùral

North Boroughs of Oð

The Nardùral is a cluster of communities piled against the northern City Wall of Oð. The densely populated area separates the City from the agrarian Northfields.

Cities, Towns, and Villages

  • Town of Darshshell. A city neighborhood.
  • Town of Lowswall. A neighborhood near the City Wall, along the Run Merdus.
  • Town of Narhaven. A neighborhood near the City Wall.
  • Town of Perul. A city neighborhood.
  • Town of Snīdh. A city neighborhood.
  • Town of Tavernton. A city neighborhood above Northgate, outside the City of Oð. The neighborhood is named for the large number of taverns, pubs, and inns which cater mostly to people traveling back and forth from the City.
  • Town of Wesridge. A large community that sits on a ridge of three hills above the Cænden and Mothsmire marshes. All avenues leading away from Wesridge are blocked by walls and gates, creating a “secure” town. Each of the town’s three gates are guarded night and day. There are some who consider Wesridge a free town, independent from Oth and its holdings. Although the town has successfully avoided taxes for many years, it is doubtful that is “free” status would hold long under the direct scrutiny of the Throne or Temple.
  • Village of Cænden
  • Village of Mothsmire. A small marsh village north of the City of Oð, bordering Cænden and Wesridge. The community is plagued once a year with Spring-moth infestations. The moths are attracted to the lanterns and torches in such great numbers that the lights are often extinguished, leaving a potent burnt moth cloud in their wake. During these moth-days the people of Cænden and Wesridge prepare scented candles to ward off the fluttering swarms. The neighboring towns keep the candle ingredients secret from the Mothsmire residents, not wishing the moths to be repelled toward their own homes. This has caused some enmity between the communities.
  • Sullet’s Square. The northeastern most village square of the Nardùral. The name also applies to the surrounding neighborhood.
  • Village of Toç’s Square. A city community centered around a flagstone square near the Town of Narhaven. The buildings are centuries old but kept in good repair. The village is named for the miller who originally owned and worked the land.
