Kingdom of the Sha’al
The heart of tropical Tassèrus is home to the reptilian Sha’al. Here, within the southern jungles lies an ancient civilization that has claimed the Scaled Lands and Vast Untamed since the rise of the Takàlabhrū Empire, long centuries before the emergence of Yrūn-kind. Over the millennia, the Sha’al homeland has waxed and waned, changing shape and size, but the heart of Sha’ala has remained constant. The stone foundations of Takàlabhrū and Shirū can still be found buried under heavy vegetation, or crowded by the construction of later generations. The Sha’al preserve these ruins as ancestral reminders, believing that ill-fate will befall those that disturb the old creations. So it is that Sha’ála is a convoluted patchwork of the old and new, existing together in the present.
The overwhelming population of Sha’ála is Sha’al. The Changed, and some other races, can be found in ports and border towns, but the interior lands are rarely seen by non-Sha’al.
