Tzōjàkalajk

Yarðir of Dnurm

  • Birth: NA
  • Death: Alive
  • First Appearance: NA

Tzōjàkalajk was summoned to the Twilight World by an Eylfāe wizard named Dahlyalha during the Second Acèntyra-Dekàli War. Its Crossing was planned to facilitate the irrevocable Devastation that would result from the slaying of Yrygarmàndralyð. The Eylfāe leadership knew that the Dragul’s death would cause a magical vacuum throughout the region. They were also aware of Vorbid magics, established by early Dekàli invaders, used to imprison ancient Ilûwyri spirits. What they did not know, was the location of Dolrùm Belyranyl, and the significance of the Eye. Dahlyalha and a small cohort of soldiers and ritualists entered Illûwyr following the death of Yrygarmàndralyð. The Devastation was already brewing when the team reached Dnurm. Dahlyalha and her assistants had not expected the violent nature of Devastation and were unsure of its cause. The increasingly strong and blinding storms made return impossible, so the team decided to finish what they’d come to do. Employing a great many Eylfāri artifacts, the wizard and her team sundered the Kyuràda Vor, and called forth Tzòjakàlajk and a cadre of Urvàrdar minions. The Yarðir enslaved the wizard and her team, using their life-forces to sustain its presence in the Twilight World.

Tzōjàkalajk’s Crossing was supposed to occur in a population center. Since then, a number of travelers have been captured by the roaming Urvàrdar. The disappearance of these people has long been attributed to Restless activity in the Wastes. In truth, the surviving captives are taken to the Auction Stone and enslaved by the Yarðir. Tzōjàkalajk has kept Dahlyalha alive these many years, fearing that her death may weaken his connection to the Twilight World. Her life however is barely life at all, and she prays for death each hour and day. Tzōjàkalajk’s conundrum is that there is not enough life-force to draw upon for it to escape Dnurm, nevertheless Illûwyr. In the fall of 653 DR, Tzōjàkalajk sensed a Crossing to the northeast but the energies soon dissipated (rf. The Horror That Came to Nōyn Dag). The Yarðir is eternally patient, waiting for an opportunity to escape Dnurm with its vast powers intact. Should normalcy be restored to Illûwyr and the population return, the Yarðir of Dnurm may find its long awaited path to freedom.

Tzōjàkalajk, like many Yarðir, is a cunning and potentially powerful adversary. His form at Dnurm however, is but a shade of his full Neðéri glory. The number of souls required for Tzōjàkalajk to fully manifest would be terrible, and even then, the Yarðir would remain an outcast. The Hūdū have known of Tzōjàkalajk’s presence for centuries, but have been unable to sever the Eylfāe binding.
