Arkèdyen’s Agitation (Dragàmyr endàrtra Barátrū)

Arkèdyen’s Agitation is a simple spell that aggravates wild animals. Beasts affected by the spell are will act poorly toward all those around them.

It was a mistake. She knew that now. She stood tenderly on a broken ankle, suffered from the fall. The pain burned freshly around her swelling heel. The order to push her into the pit had been followed quickly. There had been no time to react, no chance to orient herself, to land as she’d been taught. She cursed herself as she looked around. Animals moved in the dark behind cage doors. Soon those gates would open and her troubles would be over. How did things go so bad, so quickly? Above, her audience crowded around the rim of the pit. There was a mix of anticipation, excitement, and disgust on their faces. She couldn’t be sure if they were disgusted by her or the impending scene. Somewhere behind the walls of the pit something unlocked and chains rattled. Slowly, the gates opened and the dogs came forward. They were a miserable lot of animals. Each was a mess of torn fur, missing teeth, wide scars, and sloppy stitching. She braced herself for the inevitable, but it didn’t come. The dogs were curious but not aggressive. A couple sniffed at her legs and recoiled when she shuddered in pain from her ankle. Is this what was supposed to happen? Looking upward once more she could see that several in the audience had begun weaving spells. As the incantations finished, teeth were bared, and the dogs began to growl.

Details

There is nothing subtle about the casting of this spell. To cast, the Weaver claps his hands in the direction of the beast while focusing energies into the target. The Wōdric incantation betray the spell’s non-Dekàli origins. For purposes of this spell, a beast is any creature of low intelligence with no inherent magical nature or ability. Arkèdyen’s Agitation releases an uncontrollable rage within the creature, causing it to lash out at anyone nearby. Domestic creatures have a slightly better chance to resist.
