Sulyàrdi Thug
- Born: 621 DR

Eljor was born in the shadow of the Sulyàrdi city wall. His drunkard single-father sang on street corners for spare change which he’d spend on alcohol and old pipeweed. From an early age, Eljor had to fend for himself and his father. He became proficient at hunting and killing rats which he made into stews and pokers. After his father was killed by a corner-clipping carriage, Eljor tried his hand at pickpocketing but was repeatedly caught and beaten by the Merchant Guard. Despite his poor diet, teen-aged Eljor grew stronger than his peers and was soon able to bully food and coins from other youths. He soon established a small gang in the Sulyard and enjoyed meager success. Eventually, his group’s activities were noticed by the local Derékaln and Eljor was captured, beaten, imprisoned, beaten some more, and then offered a position with a band of thugs. The group was called upon when muscle was needed more than sleight of hand. After years of intimidating delinquent customers, snapping fingers, and throwing bodies off the coastal cliffs, Eljor was hired as a bodyguard for Malðòr Frān, a subordinate to Vol Rādān, Patron Lord of Sulyard. Malðòr Frān had reason to believe that a colleague was looking to use the Merchant Guard against him, a common tactic. When the attack happened as predicted, Eljor interceded and broke both of the man’s arms. The Guard was then brought before the Guild and confessed his employer’s name. The Patron Lord took action and elevated Malðòr Frān. To thank Eljor for his work, the merchant hired a courtesan for the bodyguard.
Tressta’s notes: Late twenties, strong unattractive brute with smallish eyes, angry. Abusive beast. Unpleasant encounter was arranged by his employer in reward for protective services rendered. Eljor was one of the reasons Tressta became determined to leave Tyrána and seek better arrangements for herself. During her encounter with Eljor, Tressta feared for her life. Encounters: 1
