Magic

“Magic is potential. The Krēádryn does not create matter from nothing. He taps into the potential of the unseen clay and shapes it into his creation. The process is no different than a blacksmith forging a sword. Through skilled use of hammer, tongs, forge, and fire, the metal’s potential is directed into the final shape. The metal was not destined to be a sword. The blacksmith could have created a plow, a lock, or a horseshoe. The smith’s will determined the outcome. The Krēádryn is no different. A magician sees potential and shapes it to his will. There is magic in all things. In 11th century HK Panæð, the great wizard Dnāsda developed an instrument called the Possibility Lens, now the Lens of Dnāsda. Using the lens, she was able to measure theretofore immeasurably small seeds of potential. Dnāsda discovered that all things contained magic, though some had more potential than others. It is the magician’s challenge to find magic and direct it to his purpose.” – Mordēom the Gray, Lecturer at the Academy of Doroom, Sēmàra

Magic can be found weaving through ancient forests like an intangible wind or pooling at the hearts of mountains. Despite the widespread manipulation of magic, it always reverts to its original state over time.
