Dreamwings
Arag-Gōlar are large birds with feathered wings and iridescent scales. They have long, powerful scaled bodies that end in a serpentine tail. In addition to their wings, the head and spine of the creatures are covered in a row of feathers ending in a fan at the tail tip. Arag-Gōlar are used for aerial travel throughout Dreaming, especially among the Drifting Islands.
Physiology
The feathers of the Arag-Gōlar are razor-sharp. Riding the birds requires specialized armor and gauntlets. Without appropriate protection, riding the birds requires a DEX check (once a turn during combat, once a minute during travel) to avoid being cut for 1d-2. Armor designed specifically for riding is called Arag-Dorak. Arag-Dorak is useful for riding but is not designed for movement once off the steed.
