The Garden Temple

The High Temple was a massive circular garden divided radially into separate Shrines for each of the twelve Dekàli months. In ancient times, the weather of a particular month was maintained year-round within that month’s wedge. Stepping into the Shrine of Lanal one might pluck ripe fruits from a walk side tree in the deepest winter months. At the center of the Garden was a beautiful pool surrounded by three large menhirs. Light shone from the top of each stone which was believed to be a window into an Ethereal realm of light and timelessness. These were called the Three Windows.

During the Temple’s destruction in 1246 HK, the menhirs were toppled and their lights extinguished. The Garden is no longer tended, and the plants from one region have grown throughout, ruining walls and walkways with their ancient roots and limbs. From the outside, Kyrm Or’Kændlan now appears as an untamed forest in the center of the city. Only the hints of great Shrines and towers peeking through the trees and vines give a hint to the great Garden and buildings that once stood there.
