Outbreaks: Common throughout North Coast

Shēloð’s is a venereal disease that affects Yrūni women. Men can carry the disease but rarely suffer effects from it. The effects on women are particularly awful. Within a week of contracting Shēloð’s Disease, women will develop a collection of small red hives around their crotch, inner thighs, and buttocks. Over the second week the hives form into small pustules. By the end of the second week, the pustules harden, become itchy, and then rupture, secreting a foul-smelling pus. While all of this this happening, new hives and pustules are constantly forming. Ruptured pustules leave circular scars. The odor produced from ruptured pustules can induce nausea. Internally, Shēloð’s Disease leaves women sterile.

The disease is frequently found among prostitutes.
