Lineage

1. King Ædrā the First of Oð. He was born in 481 HK at Oð. He married Lady Agábeð of Ōddon in 500 HK. He was crowned by the priests of Roð in 506 HK at Kyrm Oryroð. Patriarch of House Kar-Ðàrûn, Ædrā I spent a great deal of resources expanding Kryr Shùrulm, the family castle. Despite a massive fortress, the King spent most of his time on Tower Isle, a small structure built atop a splinter of stone that was connected to Kryr Shùrulm by a covered stone bridge. Only his closest family and confidantes were permitted to cross the slender arch. How the King spent his time there is unknown, though he may have simply enjoyed listening to the crashing of waves below. The connecting bridge was destroyed during the Battle of Oð in 1246 HK. 2. Queen Karan the First of Oð. She was born in 507 HK at Oð. She married Lord Grā, of which little is known, in 522 HK. She was crowned by the priests of Roð in 523 HK at Kyrm Oryroð. Following her father’s footsteps, Karan I began construction of two port keeps, Kryçàryn at Kre Dùlnar, and Krygènter at Dagger Peninsula. These were intended to both ease and control commerce in and out of the city. Krygènter was destroyed in the 221 DR earthquake. For these reasons, Karan I is remembered as the patron of Oðàri commerce. Her face appeared on Oðàri coins for the remainder of the Kar-Ðàrûn dynasty. She died in 544 at Oð. 3. Queen Nolda the First of Oð. She was born in 529 HK at Oð. She was crowned by the priests of Roð in 544 HK at Kyrm Oryroð. She married Lord Barram of Kændal in 551 HK. Nolda I was an accomplished diplomat, linguist, and student of world cultures. In 557 HK, she left her husband on the throne, and sailed north along the Mar Dèkali coast to visit The Hold of Vulmùra. She visited many Dwürdèni lands and was welcomed into the Halls of Erémbor to meet the Dergàrdgurün King. While her voyage was considered an expensive folly by the Oðyr, Nolda I established enduring friendships and trade agreements with the Vulmùri Dwürden that benefited the Iron Kingdom for centuries to come. 4. King Endmun the First of Oð. He was born in 553 HK at Oð. He married Lady Ēdēa of Oð in 574 HK. He was crowned by the priests of Roð in 593 HK at Kyrm Oryroð. At the time of his coronation, Oð was the largest trading port along the North Coast. Endmun I was a popular and personable ruler. He was often criticized by Oðàri Council of Lords for exiting his carriage and mingling with commoners. In 605 HK, the King was stabbed during such an encounter in Oð’s Kreyard. 5. King Ædrā the Second of Oð. He was born in 575 HK at Oð. He kept a male lover and never married. He was crowned by the priests of Roð in 605 HK at Kyrm Oryroð. His first act as King was to avenge his father’s death. A small army was assembled and marched across the Run Tèlabra. When they arrived at Avàhrlyn, most of the town was abandoned. The Oðyr staked, burned, and drowned all that remained. The town, piers, and remaining ships were then torched. The Burning of Avàhrlyn is considered by some to have incited the Eylfāe-Oðàri War, a century later. In 629 HK, the Shedding Plague swept through the City of Oð. Kryr Shùrulm was not exempt. Ædrā II and all eligible heirs met painful deaths in the Summer and Fall of that year. The Iron Crown passed from House Kar-Ðàrûn to House Skarçard.
