The Great Jungle
The Great Jungle (sometimes called The Western Jungle) presides over the Mar Pæði, a seemingly impenetrable tangle of ancient trees and twisting rivers. Viewed by some as a great untapped natural resource, the vast jungle offers nothing without a cost. Innumerable expeditions and enterprises have paddled and marched into the shadowy recesses of the Shar, never to be seen again. While some have suggested that adventurers discovered and succumbed to islands of paradise deep within the forbidding forest, most remain cautious and stick to charted waterways and maintained paths.
