The first Dwürden god emerged from an underworld imprisoned in primal Darkness. Lured by the call of the Land’s Heart, the Old Father was transformed by its power. It is unclear what Jord was before the transformation, but after this encounter he was able to create and give life to the first members of the Dwürden race. Keeping with other Dwürdèni themes, the Old Father is seen as a product of the earth, implying that the Heart (i.e., Old Mother) might be a product of the heavens. Mortals have often categorized Jord as a Bloodling. The Dwürden do not subscribe to this theory, believing that the Old Father created everyone in its time.
