Introduction
The role of Old Voga is ambiguous. In the “Story of Jord” she is described alternately as the Heart, the Old Mother, and the bride of Jord (rf. line 12a). Her threefold role existed primarily among the Dwürden of Lyrast, who revered her as the matriarch of their Old Gods. Other Dwürden cults see her as the first of many wives for Jord, significant as an early companion, but with relevance akin to a great aunt or distant relation.
