Treewalkers

The elusive Drædùr Nāe have long bodies with branching limbs and a wide bulbous head that has been compared to an onion. The Drædùr Nāe are called Treewalkers because their tall, thin bodies allow them to hide behind trees. In the Waking World, they typically move by running from one tree to the next, hiding their overly large heads amid the foliage. As far as Feyri are concerned, the Drædùr Nāe are fairly innocuous, preferring only to skulk and stare.

Physiology

The bodies of the Drædùr Nāe appear like the trunks of young trees. Their limbs are similarly constructed, broken only by a knotty elbow or knee. The feet and hands of the Treewalkers have knotty toes and fingers. The heads of these creatures are large round bulbs that appear far too weighty for the Feyri Nae’s body. A small menacing face stares from the bottom of the ponderous head. Drædùr Nāe stand anywhere from five feet to twenty-two feet in height.

Unlike other Feyri, the Drædùr Nāe do not seem to have internal organs, instead having biomechanical systems not unlike those observed in plants. The head of the Treewalkers is a different story. After peeling away the layers of skin that envelop the giant head, one finds a large nut-like core that is typically half the diameter of the original head. If the nut is cracked it reveals a rich nut-meat called drægom which is reported to have potent regenerative properties.

Psychology

Treewalkers are among the most nervous of the Feyri, preferring to remain hidden or at the back of crowds. Their height gives them a good vantage of all that is happening in the vicinity, allowing them to maintain a comfortable distance from any potential threat.

The Drædùr Nāe seem to be incredibly patient, able to wait in motionless hiding for days at a time. They have never been observed sleeping or in need of rest.

Treewalkers are usually reserved and quiet. They do not seem to be driven by the same urges as other Feyri (i.e., Sætùr Fel).

Culture

Teams of Drædùr Nāe work well together. The Treewalkers also work well with other Feyri Nae but are made uncomfortable around others such as the Gæbòl Fel. They are dutiful servants to the greater Feyri.

Though the Treewalkers are not usually aggressive, they are sometimes commanded or cornered into action. Though their limbs are too brittle for direct physical engagement, the Drædùr Nāe have been known to carry heavy objects into the trees and drop them from above.

Language

It is unknown whether the Drædùr Nāe speak, though it is guessed that they do. As spies for the Feyri, the Drædùr Nāe are often returning with news from the Waking World. Other Feyri do not seem to have trouble understanding the Treewalkers. If they use words, they are words no Mortal can hear.

Religion

All Feyri revere their Feyri Ralāe as the progenitors of their kind.

Magic

The Drædùr Nāe do not engage in vulgar magics, preferring only to use those Weavings that further mask their appearance or erase evidence of their visits.
