Valus is the son of Saldus Greymane and is betrothed to Allēa Minst for whom he took up “adventuring” to make enough money to support his love. Following his father’s example, he hopes to return to Oð, hardened and wealthy. Valus has vicious scars on his left leg that he suffered during a battle with worgs in Grazzad’s stronghold. Though he never reached Taldàna, the young man saw more of the world in a few harrowing months, than most see in their lifetimes. Leaving by ship from Borōnon, Valus returned to Oð at his father’s request to take care of his mother and take money to the families of the many companions that had died during the mountain crossing. On his eventual return in the late summer of 653 DR he was soon joined by his father, Saldus. Valus is due to marry Allēa in the autumn of that same year. In the meantime, he has accepted employment as a messenger and scout for Adāe and travels frequently throughout the Northfields and western reaches of Oð. His employer has promised to help Valus rebuild an old house on the corner of his property for the soon-to-be newlyweds.
Aside from mundane possessions, Valus wore and carried his father’s leather armor, a short-sword, a small wooden shield, and an old harp with broken strings. He embarked on the trip to Taldàna with an old mare named “Dōna”, but the horse was lost in the mountain crossing.
