Graveyard of the Nurn
The western-most Yrūn holding in Vulmùra is the northern Kingdom of Yadar. Sandwiched between the aggressive Neylferahl of Syðìsyril and the wilderness of the Dragul Marches, the people of Yadar are keenly aware of their vulnerability and need for self-reliance. Though the Yadàryr have maintained a critical alliance with the Dwürden of Oldün for many centuries, they remain keenly aware that their Immortal brethren may not always be available to stand beside them against the Eylfāe.Today, Yadar is as isolated politically as it is geographically. Yadari ships dare not skirt the western seas for fear of Eylfāe pirates and merchant caravans do not cross the Dragul Marches for fear of ancient predators. This limits land trade with the Dwürden of Oldün, and sea trade with the eastern lands of Golgàra, Ôrhruk, and Wurm. The people of Yadar know as little about the realms beyond the Winterlands, as the people south of the Doróm Tremdor know about the northern coasts of Vulmùra.

History
The most famous mystery surrounding this kingdom regards the “inhabitants” that came before the Uren. The coasts of Yadar are littered with strange shapes rising from the water and the ground itself. Pulling off centuries of dirt, moss, and weeds reveal fossilized skeletons of a race unknown to the history of the Five Lands. The race bears a primitive resemblance to the Zultaya, though they stand nearly nine feet in height. All of the fossils appear to be fleeing westward from the Bay of Nurn, heading inland in great numbers only to be frozen into place, forever. Most startling of all the fossils are the Bones of Jandir. Zultàyani historians prefer not to speak about the remains, except to offer a name, the Nurn. It is not known why they emerged upon the coasts of Yadar, what they may have been fleeing from, or what strange fate befell them once they reached the land. The Eylfāe have no memories of the people or their demise, though it is guessed that the event happened in late Second Age.
Yrūnyr arrived in the land in the middle of the Third Age. It is not clear where the people of Yadar originated but many have guessed that they once lived in the region of Qor and migrated west to avoid the expanding Tūkùmuni Empire. When the Tūkùmuni Empire fell in 3/2840 ER, it left a wide swath of uncivilized lands between Yadar and the nearest Yrūni settlement. The Fall of the Tūkùmuni Empire and the First Syðìsyríli-Yadàri War twenty years earlier were no coincidence, and reflected a growing presentiment among the Eylfāe that the Mortal Races could not be trusted. The Dwürden had learned their lessons centuries before and instead of withdrawing contact with the new races, embraced them as allies against their ancient foe, the Eylfāe. It was this decision by the Dwürden that gave the Yadara the support they needed to not only thrive in the Winterlands, but to stand against Syðìsyríl.
