Metalsmith

Metalsmiths keep the wheels of civilization turning. The trade of Metalsmithing is a wide one however that is commonly divided into several specialties (e.g., bellfounding, blacksmithing, bladesmithing, coppersmithing, goldsmithing, gunsmithing, locksmithing, pewtersmithing, silversmithing, smelting, tinkering, tinsmithing, whitesmithing). Within the Old Empire, all forms of Metalsmithing fall inside the purview of Roð, God of Crafters. The secrets of working with metal in fact are considered to be a gift of the Old Master to his faithful. Despite the Yrūn discovery of steel by Pryr Roð circa 835 HK, iron and bronze are still widely used almost a thousand years later. The Yrūn production of steel by cementation remains expensive and inefficient, with blister steel as the pinnacle of their craft (with the exception of Orm).
