Ka-Ky

Foreword

The priests would not approve of this, not now and definitely not here. He kissed her shoulder and her neck, followed by her ear. She smelled of mouldy books, ink, paint, and sweat, the only things he seemed to smell anymore. She responded by drawing him closer and guiding his hand to the thigh beneath her hiked robe. He drew her body against his and lifted her onto the desk. Soon she was bracing herself against the carrel walls trying to suppress vocal satisfaction. Beneath her the paint of a newly transcribed page was smeared and the pages crumpled. The master scrivener would be most displeased, for this was to be a volume that included all entries from Ka through Ky.
